April ushers in a new chapter of our life, individually and globally. The last chapter which started approximately in 2010, peaked between June 2012 and March 17th 2015 in tandem with the 7 exact squares between Uranus and Pluto. The core themes of these evolutionary planetary energies have focused on the transformation of structures in conjunction with personal and collective awakening and enlightenment. Examples include exposing of the underlying role that religious structures have played in the world over the centuries and the ensuing consequences, increased access to free education via the internet and the change in the role of traditional educational structures, exposure of the lack of integrity and inequality by the financial structures which resulted in vast increases in poverty within sectors of the population, and the recognition that relationships based on love cross societal divisions based on fear.

 

Many of these global issues have been highlighted within Ireland recently, including the crisis in the health service and the exposure of the extent of homelessness. The widespread support for the coming elections on Civil Marriage equality is a powerful indicator of a growing urge to recognize and respect the separation between civil rights and religious dogma, as well as the growing recognition that love is love, across all differences. 

 

In the wake of the Total Lunar Eclipse on April 4th we are likely to feel a gradual lessening of the intensity of the planetary energies. Similarly to a tidal wave that ebbs and flows, these energies will gradually move further and further out, until Uranus the awakener and Pluto the god of transformation fully separate from each other in 2018. In the meantime, the changes that have been initiated over the past three years are likely to gain momentum. The manner in which they manifest on a personal and global basis is entirely dependent on our level of awareness, consciousness and personal responsibility.

So what are some of the highlights over the next few months? 

 

 

 

 

April 4th brings a total lunar eclipse in Libra, the sign of balance, justice, compromise and relationships. Lunar eclipses always occur during a full moon, emphasising the invitation to release everything that is outdated. Locking into Uranus and Pluto in the sky, as well as Jupiter and Chiron, this Eclipse is a great time to bring to a close areas of our life which are out of balance due to over-compromising. 

 

 

May is likely to have a softer quality with Neptune in Pisces taking a more centre stage position. Playing as a background note since 2011/2012, this planet invites us to swim in the oceanic depths of our imagination, emotions and connection with the spirit realm. The role of love comes to the fore with Venus in Cancer squaring the Nodes, reminding us that self-love is the key to balance in relationships. Mercury goes retrograde from May 19th to June 11th causing some possible confusion with linear thinking and communication particularly in this airy sign where the qualities of Hermes the trickster can easily come to the fore. 

 

 

On June 16th Saturn pays a final visit to the Scorpionic depths until Aug 2nd. This offers us the opportunity to clear out any remaining vestiges of unconscious personal, family, ancestral and past life debris that surfaced during Saturn’s stay in Scorpio from Oct 2012 to December 2014. This frees us to fully step into a new lighter way of being with new tools at our disposal – the core one being a more open heart that is now clearer of many old resentments.
