“May someone who knows and loves

The complex village of your heart

Be there to echoe you back to yourself

And create a sure word-raft

To carry you to the further shore.”

From: For the Dying, John O’Donohue

To be present with someone during their final journey is both a privilege and a challenge. In order to be fully present with them we must explore our own beliefs surrounding this transition. And we can develop the skills of presence, mindfulness and compassion which will guide us as we take this journey with another.

Areas covered include:

  • The energy system of the body and soul
  • Developing our own awareness so that we can open to being fully present with others
  • Mindfulness, healing presence and compassion
  • The gift of being witness to this ultimate journey
  • Healing arts – complementary therapies, sound, music, poetry, writings
  • Adapting practices to support the spiritual beliefs of the person
  • Asking brave questions
  • The cycles of life and death from a Celtic Spirituality perspective
  • The importance of ritual before, during and after death
  • Prayers to guide the passing soul
  • Healing beyond words

This is a residential weekend focusing on experiential learning. The weekend will be based on mindfulness and compassion – for ourselves and for those others attending. We will act as a community and support and nurture each other as we explore the transition of death from a soul/spirit perspective. The group will be small to ensure support for your individual journey.

Dates: 25th - 27th September 2015

Location: Bundoran, Co. Donegal

Cost: €300 (which includes meals and accommodation)

This weekend may not be suitable for someone with a seriously ill relative or for someone recently bereaved. Please discuss your circumstances with Moya prior to booking.
