'THE DREAM TAROT'

A 7-day Residential Dream Workshop Presented by Members of the Fool's Dance Gestalt Company - the Paul Rebillot School in Ireland.

Waterville Lake Hotel, Waterville, Co. Kerry.

February 14th to February 20th, 2015.

THE WORKSHOP: Do you sometimes wake from a dream, intrigued by its haunting images?  Do those images linger on, hinting that they have something important to tell you ... if only you could find a way to decode them?  If so, you are not alone.  The first dream records that we know of were written down in ancient Mesopotamia (modern Iraq/Syria) and today, about 5,000 years later, the question of the meaning and possible significance of dreams is still a very live issue in the worlds of psychology and psychotherapy.

In this workshop you will experience an approach to the exploration of your dream world that is firmly rooted in the images of the dreams themselves and does not rely on interpretations by anyone else.  To achieve this Paul Rebillot has combined the structural elements of a standard Tarot 'Life Reading' with his own powerful 'hyper-Gestalt' methodology - a creative fusion of classical Gestalt process with ritual, drama, art, movement, music and meditation.

As a participant in  the workshop you will:

  • Create your own unique personalised deck of Tarot cards using images from your dreams rather than those from the Rider-Waite or other classic Tarot set
  • Learn an expanded form of Gestalt process that you can apply, not only to reading your own dream cards but also, if you wish, to the classic Tarot as well.
  • Stage your dreams as you would a play, with yourself and other members of the group playing the various roles.
  • Dance your dreams to completion, discovering what they are telling you in relation to the important questions of your life.

PAUL REBILLOT was trained in Gestalt therapy by Dick Price (an influential early student of Fritz Perls, the founder of the Gestalt approach) at the Esalen Institute in Northern California, where he was also influenced by the mythologist Joseph Campbell. As a psychotherapist, Paul developed a unique series of therapeutic structures combining the Gestalt approach with the skills and insights that he had learned during an earlier career in the world of avant-garde theatre.  For nearly 30 years Paul led workshops and offered training in his work in the USA, Europe and beyond.  He retired in March 2008 and died in February 2010.

THE FOOL'S DANCE GESTALT COMPANY - PAUL REBILLOT SCHOOL IN IRELAND is a group of people in Ireland who have worked for many years with Paul Rebillot, are graduates of his Advanced Training and have been authorised by him to lead the processes that he developed.
