Discover the Clown Within - One Day Play and Improvisational
Discover the Clown Within is a one-day introductory playshop in improvisational clowning facilitated by Susan Coughlan of Purposeful Play.
You know how sometimes, and for no obvious reason, you throw your keys up into the air and catch them in the palm of your hand? Or you stop to say hello to a dog in the street. Or you doodle in the condensation on the bathroom mirror. Each one of these is a spontaneous shift: from the left brain into the right brain; from anxiety to ease; from claustrophobia to spaciousness; from separation to connection and belonging. It’s the spirit of playfulness popping up inside you.
This playshop will be about purposefully exploring this state of playfulness through clown, using games, play, movement and improvisation, allowing you
to:
- Experience play more as a way of being rather than as something we do
- Experiment with playfulness in yourself and in your relationship with others
- Explore the delight of complicity and receptivity
- Enjoy the feeling of being more present, open, responsive and curious
- Gain insight, energy and a feeling of freedom in mind, body and spirit.
No previous experience is necessary as the clown is naturally present in us all - trust us!
